KEARNEY – Tricia Danburg, assistant director of alumni engagement for the UNK Alumni Association, received the University of Nebraska Board of Regents KUDOS award Jan. 25.

KUDOS awards recognize university staff for their professional expertise, service and “superior dedication” to UNK and University of Nebraska. It is the university’s top staff award.

A 1994 UNK graduate, Danburg has been a member of the UNK staff since 2015.

Danburg coordinates approximately 20 Alumni Association events each year that bring alumni together in Kearney and at locations across Nebraska and the U.S.

She sponsors student alumni organizations, works with the Alumni LEAD Council and various volunteer committees, collaborates with campus organizations and departmental offices, works closely with award programs such as UNK’s Outstanding Senior recognition, and assists the NU Foundation with various events.

“Our UNK alumni and foundation office works hand in hand with the UNK Chancellor’s Office to coordinate activities for our most important friends,” said her supervisor, Lucas Dart. “Trish does a marvelous job in all aspects to assure every detail is covered. I’m proud of the working model we have, especially with Trish in the middle of it.

“Her impressive organizational skills and her graceful, sophisticated and responsible nature make her a perfect fit for this position.”

Danburg was also recognized for assisting Chancellor’s Office with high profile campus and community events such as commencement, athletics pregame activities, the UNK Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet and holiday receptions. Each homecoming, she also oversees the Distinguished Alumni Award recognitions and luncheon.

The reorganization of the Alumni Association Board of Directors, development of volunteer working committees, and collaboration with Career Services and other offices for the benefit of students, alumni and campus organizations are accomplishments of which she is most proud.
