“I got involved with the Muscular Dystrophy Association through my fraternity and ended up as a camp counselor for the summer camp. Being an MDA camp counselor is a very uplifting experience. It’s great to see these children stay in high spirits, even though they have various forms of Muscular Dystrophy and other disabilities.
“These kids inspire me to always stay positive no matter what I may be going through. Being a camp counselor is stressful and hard work during the week, but seeing the kids smile and laugh is what makes me want to keep coming back each year.
“It’s one of the greatest decisions I have ever made. I hope others can feel inspired to volunteer at this camp and put themselves out there. Get out of your comfort zones, you may be surprised by what you find.”
