UNK students Bryan Hill of North Platte and Nicole Hoffman of Table Rock each won an Apple Watch in a recent campus drawing. Hill and Hoffman were drawn as winners from a list of students who took the National Survey of Student Engagement. The survey is conducted every three years, and UNK gave away the watches to motivate more students to participate. Dean of Graduate Studies and Research Kenya Taylor presented the watches, which are valued at about 0.
The National Survey of Student Engagement is used to help administrators and professors measure the level of student participation at universities as it relates to learning and engagement. The survey targets first-year and senior students on campuses.
NSSE developed 10 student Engagement Indicators that are categorized in four general themes: academic challenge, learning with peers, experiences with faculty and campus environment.
