Offutt Brass Air Force Band presents free concert at UNK

Offutt-Brass-photo-1KEARNEY – Offutt Brass, the brass ensemble of the United States Air Force Heartland of America Band, will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday (Sept. 21) at UNK’s Fine Arts Recital Hall.

The concert is free and open to the public. No advanced tickets are required.

Offutt Brass is stationed at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha. Its members have many years of professional experience performing with symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, jazz ensembles, touring shows and today’s popular artists.

In addition to community concerts, Offutt Brass provides patriotic music and fanfares for military ceremonies, important civic events, and conducts educational clinics across Nebraska.

Comprised of five brass players and a percussionist, the ensemble presents a diverse repertoire featuring classical music, patriotic favorites, jazz standards, and new compositions and arrangements.

Offutt Brass musicians are full-time Active Duty members of the Air Force and have attended Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas.

All members of Offutt Brass hold college degrees in music.
