UNK forensics fares well at ‘Kansas in Nebraska Swing’ tourney

Alexa-Shoaff-WEBKEARNEY – University of Nebraska at Kearney Forensics Team member Alexa Shoaff qualified for the National Individual Events Tournament in April by finishing third in informative speaking at Saturday’s “Kansas in Nebraska Swing” competition.

The event was hosted Saturday and Sunday in Lincoln by Kansas State University and University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

A junior from Hays, Kan., Shoaff is competing in forensics at UNK for the first time and qualified for nationals just three tournaments into the season, which is the minimum amount of time required for an event to qualify.

Jeremy Plumb, a junior from Omaha, placed fourth in dramatic interpretation Saturday and third in a separate dramatic interpretation tournament Sunday for the Lopers.
