Construction Update – December 23
Work remains on schedule, and the building is enclosed for the winter, allowing workers to focus on interior work.
“We have temporary heat in the building for the interior finishes. As the building sits right now, we have approximately 70 percent of the interior framing in place and drywall is right behind that,” said Lee McQueen, UNK director of facilities, management and planning.
Crews are hanging drywall on the north end of the building, and they are on track to start finishing drywall in the middle of January.
Mechanical rough in is moving forward, McQueen said, and all of the mechanical equipment will be set in approximately three weeks.
The steam tunnel has been tested and is set to be enclosed this week.
