KEARNEY – University of Nebraska at Kearney piano students swept top honors at the Oct. 24-25 Nebraska Music Teachers Association State Conference in Wayne.
Ayane Nakajima, a junior piano performance major from Japan, won the Music Teachers National Association Young Artist Piano Competition, Nebraska State Level
John Paul Lempke, a junior piano performance and music composition major from Wallace, won first place in the NMTA Collegiate Piano Performance category.
Nolan Pribnow, a junior piano performance and music education major from Lincoln, won second place in the NMTA Collegiate Piano Performance category.
All three UNK students are recipients of Lavern Clark Memorial Piano Scholarships. Lempke and Pribnow study under Valerie Cisler, while Nakajima is a student of Nathan Buckner.
