KEARNEY – The University of Nebraska at Kearney is moving two of its Thursday evening (Aug. 28) Destination Downtown events inside due to rainy weather and forecasts that predict more rain during tonight’s event.

Omaha-based band Talbott Brothers will perform at 7:30 p.m. inside The World Theatre at 2318 Central Ave. The eating contest at 9:30 p.m. has also been moved inside to the theater.

All other Destination Downtown events remain scheduled outside as planned, as participating businesses have available space inside for their activities and sales.

Destination Downtown is from 8 to 10 p.m. hosted in Downtown Kearney: The Bricks. The event includes prizes, free food, student discounts at businesses, live music, the eating contest and other activities.

Buses will run from the Nebraskan Student Union and University Residence South to downtown and back from 7:30 until 11 p.m. for Destination Downtown.
