KFXL Fox Nebraska to broadcast UNK football game Saturday

KEARNEY – The University of Nebraska Kearney, the MIAA Television Network and KFXL Fox Nebraska announced Wednesday that the UNK football game vs. Lindenwood University will be available in high definition on KFXL Fox this Saturday.

Coverage begins at 2:30 p.m. and this “MIAA Game of the Week” will be available in 52 counties in Nebraska and Kansas. Charter Communications customers in the Kearney area and other Fox markets in the region can find the game on channel 4. The game will air on channel 17 for DirecTV and Dish Network customers, as well as channel 18 for Time Warner subscribers in eastern Nebraska.

“This is an outstanding opportunity for Loper fans across the region to catch UNK football. Our student-athletes need your support, so don’t hesitate to view us as we take on the 3-1 Lindenwood Lions in the highly competitive MIAA,” said UNK Athletic Director Paul Plinske.

The broadcast is in partnership with the MIAA Television Network as one of its featured “MIAA Game of the Week” productions. During eight weeks of the 2013 season, one league contest is aired live per week and seen on select stations in Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.

KFXL Fox Nebraska is a sister station of NTV. General manager Vince Barresi said, “Our company embraces the opportunity to partner with UNK Athletics to offer Loper fans and our customers the opportunity to see this game. We have a great working relationship with UNK and hope to continue this sort of support in the future.”

In 2012, UNK was the “MIAA Game of the Week” twice, at Missouri Western State and at home vs. Truman State.
