KEARNEY – Heidi Haussermann, the Help Desk manager and assistant manager for the campus technology store, has received the 2013 Technology Excellence Award at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
The annual award recognizes Information Technology Services staff members for exceptional performance and going above and beyond their expected duties. Job performance, teamwork, acceptance of responsibility and commitment are all considered when selecting a recipient.
To qualify, employees must be nominated by faculty, staff or co-workers. One nomination stated, “She is self-motivated, her customer service skills are exceptional and she is an excellent leader.”
The nomination also referred to Huassermann’s 21 years of service and how that has helped her develop these skills. “She easily identifies and responds to learners needs and adapts her knowledge in way that the learner understands the concept. Heidi’s communication style reaches people at all levels of education, experience and technology expertise.”
Haussermann was given $1,500, and she will have a nameplate added to the permanent plaque that hangs in the ITS main office.
