Kearney, Neb., April 5, 2013 – The Loper Low Brass ensemble will perform a variety of music at the Frank House at a free, public concert 1:30 p.m. April 6.
The ensemble is comprised of trombone, euphonium, and tuba students at University of Nebraska at Kearney, and includes music majors, minors, and students with concentrations in fields other than music.
“Our program features an extremely diverse set of music,” said Seth Fletcher, music and performing arts senior lecturer at UNK. “It’s an ideal venue for our ensemble and an invaluable asset to UNK and the community.”
Some of the pieces played at the concert are “Band of Brothers” by Michael Kamen, “I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz, “Salvation is Created” by Pavel Tchesnokov and “Of Highlands, Lochs and Heather” by Barton Cummings.
The group presents around 10 performances annually and is regularly featured at UNK’s historic Frank House in addition to appearing at community events in Kearney and the surrounding area.
Regular walk-in-hours for tours of the Frank House are Monday through Friday, 2-5 p.m., and Saturday, noon-5 p.m. The Frank House is closed during UNK breaks and holidays. For more information, visit www.frankhouse.org.
