More than 40 companies and graduate schools will be represented at the University of Nebraska at Kearney Career Fair on Thursday, Oct. 4
The Career Fair, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Nebraskan Student Union. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and talk with potential future employers.
In addition, there will also be two pre-fair presentations, the Job Search Boot Camp and the Employer Showcase, to prepare students for the Career Fair.
The Job Search Boot Camp will take place on Thursday, Sept. 27, in the Nebraskan Student Union in Rooms 310 and 312. The program will give students a chance to interact with employers while developing fundamental job search skills. The camp will have three different stations in which students can participate in speed interviewing, resume critiques, and practice professional introductions and networking.
The Employer Showcase will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 3, in the Antelope Hall University View from 4 – 6 p.m. At the showcase, several professionals will present on employment opportunities within their companies.
According to Joni Weed of UNK Career Services, each event will bring students, faculty and business professionals together to build relationships, and network for jobs and internships. Business professional attire is recommended for all events.
