The Spirit Squad members have been selected for the 2012-2013 season at University of Nebraska at Kearney.
The UNK Spirit Squad includes the Cheer Squad, which performs at all football, volleyball and basketball games, and the Sapphires Dance Team, which performs at all home football and basketball games.
“The purpose of both squads is to unify students, alumni and fans in support of UNK and its athletes,” said Heather Wolf, assistant director of student activities. “They serve as ambassadors for the university at campus and community events.” Tryouts concluded in April, and consisted of interviews and physical tryouts.
