UNK WIND ENSEMBLE TO PRESENT A CONCERT TOUR OF NORTHEAST NEBRASKA AND WESTERN IOWA FRIDAY-SUNDAY, MARCH 18-20

The University of Nebraska at Kearney Wind Ensemble will make a three-day concert tour of four communities in northeastern Nebraska and western Iowa Friday-Sunday, March 18-20.

The ensemble, directed by Dr. Duane Bierman, will open the tour at Osmond High School at 1 p.m. on Friday. At 8 p.m., the ensemble will perform at the Johnny Carson Theatre, located at 801 Riverside Boulevard in Nebraska.

On Saturday, members of the ensemble will tour the National Music Museum in Vermillion, S.D., and then perform at Bishop Heelan High School in Sioux City, Iowa, at 8 p.m. The tour will conclude with a performance at Blair High School at 3 p.m. on Sunday. All of the performances are free and open to the public.

The audition-only group of 43 players is described as playing “the best wind literature available at the university level.”
