UNK – Prints and paintings by John Galbraith, senior art major from Grand Island, are currently on exhibit in the University of Nebraska at Kearney Walker Art Gallery.
“The objective of my senior exhibition is to show views of the beauty that exists within the dual nature of life, using two different media– printmaking and oil painting,” Galbraith said. After graduation, Galbraith plans to pursue his career as an artist.
The works will be on exhibit through Nov. 9. The gallery is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The Walker Art Gallery is located in the art wing of the UNK Fine Arts Building.
Included in Galbraith’s exhibit are a variety of prints, including wood prints, linoleum prints and lithograph prints. Some are subjects taken from nature while others are portraits. Likewise, his oil paintings include images of nature as well as portraits.
