Greek Earn Overall Fall Semester Grade Point Average of 3.11 on a 4.0 Scale at UNK

UNK– The University of Nebraska at Kearney Greek Scholarship Program recently presented awards to social fraternities and sororities on campus based on their group and individual grade point averages (GPA).

The overall scholarship winner was Sigma Phi Epsilon with a 3.31 average house GPA. The seven UNK fraternities had a combined GPA of 3.02, and the five UNK sororities had a combined GPA of 3.21. Averaged together, social fraternities and sororities on the UNK campus earned a combined average GPA of 3.11 on a 4.0 scale.

“We had some outstanding results last fall,” said Tracy Lungrin, Greek Life coordinator. “This shows how serious our Greek community takes scholarship.”

A total of 21 sorority women and 24 fraternity men earned straight “A’s,” or a 4.0 GPA last fall. Alpha Phi had the highest sorority GPA with a 3.28, followed by Gamma Phi Beta with a 3.27. The highest fraternity GPA was Sigma Phi Epsilon with a 3.31, followed by Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) with a 3.29. Sigma Lambda Gamma won highest Multicultural Greek Council chapter GPA with a 3.2 average.

Highest new member GPA winners were social sorority Gamma Phi Beta with an average GPA of 3.26 and social fraternity Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) with a 3.5 GPA.
