“Let It KSnOw, Let It KSnOw, Let It KSnOw” is the theme for the Kearney Symphony Orchestra (KSO) concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, at the Merryman Performing Arts Center in Kearney.
The orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Ron Crocker, will open with “Three German Dances” by Mozart, followed by selections from Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker.” The concert will conclude with an audience sing-along of Christmas carols, including “Joy to the World,” “Deck the Halls” and “We Wish You A Merry Christmas.”
General admission is $8 for the public, and free for UNK students, faculty and staff. Tickets are also free for children accompanied by an adult. Advance ticket reservations are available through the UNK theatre box office at 308.865.8417 or e-mail boxoffice@unk.edu
The orchestra is comprised of University of Nebraska at Kearney faculty, staff and students, along with area musicians. Director Crocker describes the Kearney Symphony Orchestra as “an organization for string, wind, brass and percussion players who want to perform and continue to improve musically.”
The orchestra provides symphonic concerts and activities for university and community members in Central Nebraska, while providing opportunities for members of the community, university and other students to participate in a symphony orchestra.
