Dr. Robert Ficociello

The University of Nebraska at Kearney Reynolds Series will present Dr. Robert Ficociello, a short story writer and assistant professor in the UNK Department of English, on Wednesday, Nov. 11.
Dr. Ficociello, who is making his first Nebraska appearance, will read from his works beginning at 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Studio Theater on campus. The theater is located in the lower level of the Fine Arts Building. Reynolds Series presentations are free and open to the public.
Dr. Ficociello came to Nebraska from New Orleans. Born and raised near Boston, Dr. Ficociello earned his B.S. from the University of Massachusetts. He went on to earn the M.F.A in Creative Writing at the University of New Orleans and was awarded a Ph.D. in American War Literature from the University of Albany.
Over the last decade, he has published both scholarly and creative short stories. His fiction literature has appeared in “South Dakota Review,” “New Orleans Review,” “Short Story” and “Mobius.”
Dr. Ficociello is currently writing a novel titled “While Supplies Last,” a story about philosophy, voodoo and suicide, with a satirical twist.
