UNK- The square grand piano at the Frank House museum will be featured in a Frank House Parlor Performance, “Sada on the Square,” at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22.
Sada Hotovy, a University of Nebraska at Kearney student from Lincoln, will share history of the square piano and demonstrate its sound by performing selections by Beethoven, Kkuhlau, Humperdinck, Schumann and Line. A history major with a minor in English, Hotovy has been playing piano since she was in the second grade.
“I learned about the square piano when my French class was given a tour of the Frank House,” Hotovy said. “I was so enthralled with the instrument that I asked to play a song on it, and I was excited when KrisAnn (Frank House museum director) said ‘Yes.'”
The Frank House Parlor Performance is free and open to the public.
