UNK Awards Spring 2008 Distinguished Tutor Award To Aaron Steele Of Hickman

UNK- Aaron Steele of Hickman has been named recipient of the spring 2008 Distinguished Tutor Award for his work with Academic Success at the University of Nebraska at Kearney

David Brandt, academic services coordinator, said, “We honor Aaron for his dedication to the students at UNK. He is always willing to take the time needed to make sure the student he is tutoring understands the importance of quality study skills as well as the concepts and basic understanding needed in that area of study.

“He goes above and beyond in assisting students and does an excellent job of communicating with faculty and staff. His positive attitude is contagious and it not only reflects on the students he serves, but everyone with whom he comes into contact,” Brandt added.

The Distinguished Tutor Award is recognition of outstanding commitment and dedication shown by an Academic Success tutor. Nominations for the award come from administrators, faculty members, staff, peer tutors and students.

Steele, who is one of 24 tutors in the program, has been a tutor for four semesters in the areas of computer science and mathematics.
