Ad-PR Club At UNK Elects Officers For 2008-2009

UNK- The Ad/PR Club at the University of Nebraska at Kearney has elected new officers for the 2008-2009 academic year, according to Dr. Ruth Brown, Ad/PR Club adviser.

New officers, who were installed last week at the final meeting of the academic year, include: Eric Korth of Hastings, president; Eugene Bichlmeier of Columbus, vice president for membership and fund-raising; Jessica Blex of Syracuse, vice president for public relations; Zack Salem of Lincoln, vice president of finance; and Maggie Carr of Gibbon, vice president for special projects.

Dr. Brown said that the Ad/PR Club exists to promote a better understanding of the functions of advertising and public relations; to apply the skills, creativity and energy of those fields to help solve social problems; to facilitate mutually beneficial association between professionals and students; to develop the individual abilities of its members; and to promote fellowship and the free exchange of ideas, according to Ruth Brown, associate professor and club advisor.

The UNK Ad/PR Club is affiliated with the American Advertising Federation. The organization is open to all students interested in advertising or public relations as a career.
