The University of Nebraska at Kearney Forensics team has competed in three tournaments in recent weeks, earning 39 individual awards and placing fifth out of 13 schools in two of the tournaments.
At the Midwest Mixer tournament at Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, UNK forensics team member Brandon Pettigrew of Kearney was named tournament champion.
According to Rachelle Kamrath, UNK director of Forensics, “The students who compete in the tournament are able to enter a category more than once, so we have a better opportunity for students to place.
“I’ve been very happy about what they’ve achieved,” she said. “We recruited one of the strongest freshmen classes, and we have strong returners.”
