UNK- The University of Nebraska at Kearney’s Nebraskats show choir will present a holiday concert on Wednesday, Dec. 5, in the UNK Fine Arts Recital Hall.
According to Dr. Andrew White, assistant professor of music and Nebraskats director, the concert will showcase a variety of musical pieces, including jazz standards and rock and roll, as well as Christmas songs. The ensemble will also perform music from the Broadway show “Hairspray.” The concert, which begins at 7:30 p.m., is free and open to the public.
Nebraskats is a 14-member show choir. Members, who are full-time UNK students from various fields of study, are selected through competitive audition. The Nebraskats perform a variety of music, including Broadway show tunes, medleys of songs from various composers and popular music from different musical eras. The Nebraskats have also had the opportunity to perform tours in both the United States and around the world.
