Forty-two students at the University of Nebraska at Kearney are the first to be inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, a newly established international honor society.

Beta Gamma Sigma recognizes students enrolled in collegiate business and management programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International.

Dr. Bruce Forster, dean of the UNK College of Business and Technology and a Beta Gamma Sigma member, attended a seminar this spring on organizing new chapters. This honor society replaces Sigma Beta Delta, which was the honor society for UNK business students for many years.

Beta Gamma Sigma was founded in 1913 by three separate national business honor societies at the University of Wisconsin, University of Illinois and the University of California.
