BRETTE COVINGTON PRESENTS SENIOR RECITAL SUNDAY, NOV. 12, IN UNK FINE ARTS RECITAL HALL

Brette Covington, a University of Nebraska at Kearney musical theatre major from North Platte, will present her senior vocal recital at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, in the Fine Arts Recital Hall on the campus.
    
Covington studies voice with Dr. Anne Foradori, an associate professor in the UNK Department of Music and Performing Arts. Covington has received the Outstanding Senior Award, the Dr. William R. and Mary Jane Nester Leadership Award and the Carol Cope music scholarship.
    
She has been a member of Choraleers and Collegium for the past four years, and the Nebraskats show choir for three years. Membership in all three groups is by competitive audition only.
    
Further, she has been a part of the musical theatre productions Working and Godspell. Currently, she is a part of the cast for the upcoming production of A Little Night Music.
    
In the Sunday recital, which is free and open to the public, Covington will perform musical theatre works by Jason Robert Brown, Jonathan Larson, Adam Guettel, John Bucchino and others. A few art songs by Faure and Paul Bowles are also part of her repertoire.
    
Covington is the daughter of Gary and Deanna Covington of North Platte
