Three one-act plays by Horton Foote — The Midnight Caller, Blind Date andA Young Lady of Property — open the theatre season at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

The trio of one-acts, described as a snapshot of small-town America in the 1930’s, will be performed in the Studio Theatre, located on the lower level of the Fine Arts Building,  at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday – Saturday, Oct. 4-7, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8.

“The plays explore the woes, hopes, dreams, disappointments, heartbreaks, and joys of everyday life,” said Susan Deiger of the UNK theatre department, “They illustrate how some people are destroyed by life’s tragedies and others survive.”

Tickets are free to UNK students with valid ID; $3 each, for those who attend in groups of 10 or more; $7 for adults; and $5 for non-UNK students, seniors and UNK faculty and staff.
