An award-winning vocalist, Jenna Johannsen will present her junior recital Saturday, Sept. 23, on the University of Nebraska at Kearney campus.
A musical theatre and music business major, Johannsen’s performances have earned her Kearney Community Theatre’s “2005 Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical,” and the “2004 Best Actress in a Minor Role in a Comedy or Drama.”
In the Saturday recital, Johannsen will perform songs by Robert Schumann, two oratorio selections and several pieces from traditional and contemporary musical theatre. She will be accompanied on the piano by Todd Thalken.
In addition to her work with musical theatre, Johannsen is the vice president of Alpha Psi Omega theatre honor society and a member of Delta Omicron music honor society.
The recital begins at 7:30 p.m. in the UNK Fine Arts Recital Hall, and is free and open to the public.
