Business students from 16 area high schools recently tested their skills in the 18th annual Phi Beta Lambda Business Competition Day, which took place on the University of Nebraska at Kearney campus.

Award-winning high school students received medals for first place; students placing second through sixth, certificates. As part of a Pepsi Sponsorship Grant, students who placed second also received UNK collapsible frisbees. In addition, Dr. Bruce Forster, dean of the UNK College of Business & Technology, provided t-shirts to the advisers and to students who placed in the top six for each contest.

Phi Beta Lambda is the collegiate division of Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda. According to Janet Lear, the UNK Phi Beta Lambda chapter adviser, membership in the organization is open to all university students with an interest in the business world.
