A presentation of Slamma Lamma Ding Dong,  along with the readings of 10 poets, will serve as the finale of the Reynolds Writers & Readers series Friday, Feb. 24, at the Museum of Nebraska Art (MONA) in downtown Kearney.

Poets giving readings will include Matt Mason, Sarah McKinstry-Brown, Dominique Garay, Dan Leamen, Heidi Hermanson, Nat Derickson, Bruce Koborg, Erica Chu, Terry Lee Schifferns and Charles Fort, founder and director of the Reynolds Writers & Readers Series.

Featuring 35 writers who have been part of the poetry slam community since 1999, Slamma Lamma Ding Dong,  an anthology of Nebraska slam poetry, is a compilation of the work of poetry slam pioneers. It was edited by JM Huscher, Dan Leamen and Matt Mason.

“It is energetic writing whether on the page or on a stage, keeping you well entertained,” Charles Fort said.

Proceeds from sales of the anthology will go to the Slam Team fund, which helps to send Nebraska poets to national slam competitions.
