The University of Nebraska at Kearney’s Go for the Gold receptions for high school seniors kick-off this semester starting Monday, Feb. 20, at the North Platte and Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Kearney.
The receptions, which begin at 6 p.m., are to be held at the Sandhills Convention Center in North Platte and the Holiday Inn in Kearney.
Go for the Gold receptions are held for high school seniors who have either applied to the University of Nebraska at Kearney or have expressed an interest in the university. Representatives from each college, along with staff from the offices of Residential & Greek Life and Financial Aid, will be available to answer questions.
The Go for the Gold receptions this year will follow in the mold of last year’s series.
Dusty Newton, UNK director of Admissions, said “Go for the Gold is an opportunity for us to take UNK to students across the state.” He went on to say that the receptions are more regional this year, with four being held at locations across Nebraska and one in Colorado.
The schedule for Go for the Gold receptions includes Lincoln and Omaha, Feb. 27 and 28. Additionally, in March, UNK will host a Go for the Gold reception in Denver.
