A holiday favorite, A Christmas Story, opens at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, in the University of Nebraska at Kearney Miriam Drake Theatre.

Adapted by playwright Phil Grecian from the original stories and the 1993 motion picture, A Christmas Story  tells the tale of 9-year-old Ralphie Parker and his quest for the one Christmas present that he wants more than any other – a genuine Red Ryder BB Gun.

According to director Janice Fronczak, the UNK production includes “… all of the antics, humor, and holiday fun found in the original film.”

Performances are set for 7:30 p.m. from Wednesday, Nov. 30, through Saturday, Dec. 3. On Sunday, Dec. 4, there will be a matinee at 2 p.m.

Tickets for the production are $7 for adults; $5 for students, seniors and UNK Faculty/Staff; $3 each for groups of 10 or more; and free for UNK students with a valid ID. Tickets may be reserved through the UNK Theatre Box Office at (308) 865-8417 or boxoffice@unk.edu.
