‘Loper Preview Day’ Gives High School Students the Opportunity to Visit UNK Campus Monday

LeeAnn Amm
assistant director of Admissions, 308.865.8457

High school seniors interested in attending the University of Nebraska at Kearney will have an opportunity to check out the campus, thanks to the Loper Preview Day event on Monday, Nov. 14.

According to Lee Ann Amm, campus visit coordinator, the purpose of the event is to give students a first-hand look at life at UNK, and allow them to interact with current UNK students.

During the course of the day, students will take a walking guided tour of the campus, have lunch in the cafeteria and find out about what attending UNK is really like from a panel of students currently enrolled at UNK. The high school seniors also receive information about the admissions process, financial aid and scholarships, and the various student life opportunities on campus.

According to Amm, approximately 60 high school seniors from towns across Nebraska and into Kansas have already registered to attend.

Students interested in Loper Preview Day events can register online by going to www.unk.edu and clicking on the Prospective Students button on the right-hand side of the page. Registration is free and is limited to the first 100 students, Amm said, and students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
