Dr. Angana P. Chatterji, an associate professor of social and cultural anthropology at the California Institute of Integral Studies, will speak at the University of Nebraska at Kearney on Monday, Nov. 21, at 4 p.m. in the Nebraskan Student Union Sandhills Room.
Dr. Chatterji will give a presentation on the effects of nation-building and corporate- dominated globalization on women and children. She will address questions regarding the relationship between religion and gendered violence, and will speak about the overlap of gender and state toward rethinking the ideas of nation and rights.
This event is free and open to the public, and Dr. Chatterji’s address will be followed by a reception.
