ASSISTANT U.S. SECRETARY OF EDUCATION TO SPEAK AT UNK

Ms. Karen Johnson, Assistant U.S. Secretary of Education for Legislation and Congressional Affairs, and U.S. Congressman Tom Osborne will be at the University of Nebraska at Kearney on Tuesday, September 2.  Secretary Johnson will be the keynote speaker at a campus-wide forum that will be held in celebration of UNK’s 100th anniversary.  The forum will be held in the Ponderosa (Great) Room of the Nebraskan Student Union at 1:30 p.m.

“Ms. Johnson’s visit to our campus represents a unique honor for our institution,” said UNK Chancellor Doug Kristensen.  Her address will include the Higher Education Reauthorization Act and the No Child Left Behind Act.

The forum is free and the public is invited to attend.
