The University of Nebraska at Kearney Jazz Rock Ensemble will present a spring concert on April 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the Fine Arts Recital Hall.
The performance will feature music written for big bands with an emphasis on the 1990’s. The students will perform jazz pieces styled in several types of swing, a ballad, a jazz samba, modal jazz and smooth jazz. Ron Crocker, UNK professor of music, will perform a drum solo with the band.
“The UNK Jazz Rock Ensemble brings together UNK students from all over the state to play great jazz and rock music from the best professional big bands in the nation,” said James Payne, concert director and UNK professor of music.
The performance is free and open to the public.
