The University of Nebraska at Kearney Department of Music and Performing Arts presents a Musical Theatre Showcase on April 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Recital Hall.
Performances will also take place on April 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Omaha Community Theatre and on April 21 in the Theatre Building Chicago.
The showcase is a full evening of musical theatre entertainment from a broad cross section of musicals performed by six UNK Musical Theatre students and a UNK Alumna. This performance marks the first presentation of such a project from the department.
The students participating are Sydney Fisher of Littleton, Colo., Kami Graves of Kearney, Josh Hermansen of Hay Springs, Leah Skorupa of Columbus, Chris Smith of Oberlin, Kan. and Candice Younghans of Hershey. Also participating is alumna Melanie Walters of Omaha who was a national finalist in the 2001 American Traditions Competition in Savannah, Ga.
The performances are open to the public and free will offerings will be accepted.
