Successful Alumnus to Speak at UNK

The University of Nebraska at Kearney Distinguished Alumnus Award will be awarded to Curt Coffman, author and senior consultant for the Gallup Organization, on October 11 at 11:15 a.m. in Copeland Hall 131.

Coffman, a Kearney State College psychology graduate in 1982, will speak about the influence his psychology background has had on his career on Friday. Over the past 10 years, Coffman has presented to thousands of groups on creating outstanding work environments. Famous publications like Fortune, The New York Times and Harvard Management Update have published his research and ideas.

He has co-authored the book, First Break All the Rules: What the World’s Greatest Managers Do Differently, which has been translated into 20 different languages and has authored Follow This Path: How the World’s Greatest Organizations Unleash Human Potential, to be released this month.

The Psychology Club and the Psi Chi chapter (psychology honors society), which Coffman is a member, will sponsor his speech. All are welcome to attend.
