The University of Nebraska at Kearney will offer undergraduate degrees in business management and criminal justice in Hastings beginning this fall.
Details regarding the two degrees will be presented at an informational meeting set for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 25, on the Central Community College campus in Room 444 of the Platte Building.
“UNK is excited to deliver these off-campus programs, because they allow students to stay close to home,” said Gloria Vavricka, associate dean of continuing education. “These programs are designed for the working adult who has professional or personal commitments and is unable to attend classes during the day or on the UNK campus. Students will attend class only one night a week, yet earn six credit hours per semester.”
“UNK will provide the delivery of the upper division courses, allowing the students to take the lower division courses from their local community college,” said Steve Amundson, off-campus business adviser. “Up to 66 credit hours may be transferred in from a community college.”
Informational meetings on the offerings will also be held on the CCC campuses in Grand Island and Columbus at the same time. In Grand Island, the meeting will be in Room 907 of the CIT Building; in Columbus, Room 906 of the North Education Center.
The degrees are being offered by the Department of Criminal Justice and the Department of Management, through the UNK Division of Continuing Education.
