UNK’S FUTURE FINANCIAL LEADERS ASSN. ATTENDS MIDWEST FINANCE CONFERNCE

The University of Nebraska at KearneyÕs Future Financial Leaders Association, along with Dr. Bev Frickel and Tony Gerritsen, from the Accounting & Finance Department and Dr. Maria Romanova, a visiting scholar in the Management & Marketing Department, attended the Midwest Finance Conference in Chicago March 14-17, 2002.

The group toured and heard presentations at the Chicago Board of Trade and The Federal Reserve. Mary Rittenhouse, former UNK Economics faculty who is now employed by the Federal Reserve, talked to the students about a number of issues. One in particular was what the Federal Reserve does in a crisis such as 9-11. They also heard a presentation made by the CFO of Abbot Laboratories and about the Continental Illinois Bank. In addition, the students and faculty enjoyed the sights, sounds and food of Chicago.
