The University of Nebraska at Kearney Jazz Rock Ensemble will present their Fall Concert on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.
The group will present a concert of music written for the big band with an emphasis on the 1970s, 80s and 90s. They will perform jazz pieces styled in several types of swing, jazz samba, blues, ballad, contemporary jazz, jazz fusion and jazz rock. UNK Professor of Music Dr. James F. Payne, in his twenty-eighth year at UNK, will perform a trumpet solo.
“The UNK Jazz Rock Ensemble brings together UNK students from all over the state to play great music from the best professional big bands in the nation,” Payne said.
