UNK STUDENTS COMPETE IN PROGRAMMING CONTEST

The Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at the University of Nebraska a Kearney took two teams to the North Central Regional Computer Programming Contest in Lincoln on Saturday, November 10. The contest is run by the Association for Computing Machinery which is the worldwide professional organization for Computer Science.

Out of 113 teams participating, one of the UNK teams placed 14th. “This is another indication that, even though our numbers are down, quality is up at UNK”, said Ken Messersmith, a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at UNK.
