The eight annual Early Awareness Day will be held at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, Wednesday, March 28. Approximately 80 fourth grade students from Amherst, Axtell, Elm Creek and Pleasanton will participate in the event.
“The purpose of the event is to expose children to college life and to generate an interest in obtaining a college education”, said Carol Rapstine, Financial Aid Counselor/Student Employment. A chemistry magic show and a glass blowing demonstration are just a few of the activities planned for the event. The sponsors for Early Awareness Day are Union Bank and Trust and Nebraska College Savings Plan.
