OVER 100 SCHOOLS ATTENDING UNK’S EDUCATOR’S EMPLOYMENT FAIR

Over 100 schools will be at the Educator’s Employment Fair being held at the UNK Health and Sports Center on Wednesday, March 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ten states will be represented including Texas, California, Georgia, and Arizona. “This is a record number of schools which reflects the growing demand for teachers in Nebraska and throughout the United States,” said Nancy Kneen, director of Career Services.

The fair is for those looking for jobs available in education. First time and experienced educators, classroom teachers, administrators, counselors, school psychologists, and speech pathologists should plan on attending. Candidates will be able to visit with school system representatives about opportunities as classroom teachers, administrators, counselors, school psychologists, etc.

A highlight of the fair will be the “Candidate’s Corner,” sponsored by the Student Education Association of Nebraska and the Elementary Majors Club. The “Candidate’s Corner” will provide candidates a place to relax, review notes, read through some job search tips, and ask for assistance.

The Educator’s Employment Fair is open to the public. UNK students and alumni are admitted free and for all others the fee is $10. Candidates are strongly encouraged to pre-register through the Career Services web-site at: http://www.unk.edu/offices/careerserv/edfair_1.html or call Career Services at (308) 865-8501.
