CHORALEERS CD RELEASED

UNK- The department of Music and Performing Arts have announced the debut CD release of the University of Nebraska at KearneyÕs premiere choral organization, the Choraleers. The CD contains fourteen works ranging from the renaissance period to modern twentieth century pieces. The CD was recorded in 1999 on the campus of Utah State University in conjunction with the choirÕs appearance at the Inter Mountain Choral Festival in Salt Lake City, Utah.

“I am very proud of the work the students put into this project. We have been very excited for this CD to be completed,” said Dr. David Bauer, director of choirs at UNK.

The CDs are for sale at $10 each and can be obtained through the department of Music and Performing Arts.

The late William Lynn founded the Choraleers forty-two years ago at what was then Kearney State College. Dr. David Bauer began his tenure with the choir in 1984. The choir has sung in Carnegie Hall, St. John The Divine Cathedral (NYC), in the Mormon Tabernacle and has made three appearances with the Omaha Symphony Orchestra. Membership is by audition and open to all university students.
