Foster Field came alive Thursday night as the Lopers opened the 2026 football season in front of a spirited home crowd. From pregame tailgating and fans decked out in blue and gold to the Pride of the Plains Marching Band, cheer and dance teams and plenty of action on the field, Loper game day was on full display. UNK led Wayne State late, but the Wildcats drove the length of the field in the closing seconds and kicked a 33-yard field goal as time expired to pull out a 21-20 victory.
