NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH SPEAKER

The Student Kouncil of Inter-tribal Nations at the University of Nebraska at Kearney presents a Communiversity Event in honor of Native American Heritage Month on Wednesday, November 14 at 7 p.m. in Copeland Hall Room 131. The event is free and open to the public.

The featured speaker will be Frank LaMere, social and political activist, and president of the non-profit organization NATURE, Inc. This organization was established to enhance the social, cultural, and economic development of Tribes and First Nations (American Indians) in the United States and Canada. The topic of his lecture will be “Don’t You Indians Have More Important Things to Deal With Than This?”

“Mr. LaMere is a dynamic person who is very involved in Native American issues and is a big advocate for the education of all colored peoples”, says Phyllis Harris the Director of Multicultural Affairs at UNK.
