The Department of Music & Performing Arts-Theatre at the University of Nebraska at Kearney closes its 2000-2001 season with the Lee Blessing drama, Two Rooms. This 1988 Drama-Logue Award-Winner runs April 11-14 and April 19-22 in the Studio Theatre of the UNK Fine Arts Building. Performances are Wednesday through Saturday at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday at 3:00 p.m. General admission seating for each performance is $7.00 for adults with discounts available for students, seniors, and UNK faculty/staff. UNK students may reserve one complimentary ticket with a valid UNK ID.
Bringing Two Rooms to life in the Studio Theatre is a cast including: Kara Groskopf of Buffalo, WY; Justin Heslop of Grand Island; Steven Knox of Grand Island; and Jessica Watson of Grand Island. The Artistic Staff for Two Rooms includes: Erin McLaine (Director), David Tidwell (Scenic and Lighting Designer), Shawn Deiger (Production Sound Coordinator), Daniel M. Jones (Costume Designer) and Mark Engler (Technical Director). The stage manager is James Sagehorn of Ogallala.
In conjunction with this production of Two Rooms, the UNK Theatre Department is pleased to welcome the playwright, Lee Blessing, for a residency at UNK April 4-6, 2001. Mr. Blessing is one of the most highly regarded playwrights in contemporary theatre. His credits include (among others): Fortinbras, A Walk in the Woods, Eleemosynary, and Riches.
