UNK Theatre Presents “How I learned to Drive”

The University of Nebraska at Kearney department of music and performing arts will perform “How I Learned to Drive” February 18-22 at 7:30 p.m. and November 23 at 2 p.m. in the Studio Theatre located in the Fine Arts Building.
The Pulitzer Prize-winning drama explores the complex relationship between a young girl and her uncle as she comes of age in the 60’s and 70’s and learns the lessons of life from behind the wheel.

Tickets for the performance are $7 for adults and $5 for UNK faculty and staff, students and seniors. Tickets can be reserved by calling the UNK Box Office at (308) 865-8417, or sending an e-mail to boxoffice@unk.edu. Office hours are Monday and Wednesday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and one hour prior to each performance. Due to subject matter, this production is recommended for mature audiences only.
There will be a talk-back session following each evening performance. The discussion will be moderated by Janice Fronczak, UNK theatre faculty, and will include a panel of faculty and professionals from UNK and the surrounding community, the cast, crew, director, and designers. The session will offer audiences an opportunity to respond to the play and discuss the issues it addresses.
