Triangles, a trio of one acts, will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 18-20; 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21; and at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, Dec. 2-4, in the University of Nebraska at Kearney Studio Theatre,
located on the lower level of the Fine Arts Building.
Triangles, a trio of one acts, includes The Telephone by Gian Carlo Menotti, The Vise by Luigi Pirandello and The Lover by Harold Pinter. This unique combination of one-act plays, which is for mature audiences only, takes three different looks at love.
Daniel M. Jones, UNK theatre costume coordinator, is the director of The Telephone, as well as the costume designer of The Vise and The Lover. Janice Fronczak, UNK associate professor of theatre, is the director of The Vise, and Jack Garrison, UNK associate professor of theatre, is director of The Lover.
“In The Telephone, Menotti’s comic opera, a young man’s attempts to propose to his beloved are repeatedly interrupted by a persistent third party,” said Susan Deiger of the UNK theatre program. “In The Vise, Pirandello tells a tale of a love affair that is discovered and tragically ended. In The Lover, a couple sustains the passion in their marriage in true Pinter style.”
Tickets can be reserved in advance through the Theatre Box Office, 308.865.8417. Tickets are $7 for general admission, and $5 for UNK faculty and staff, non-UNK students and seniors. UNK Students get in free with a valid UNK student ID.
