Learning up-to-date résumé techniques to make an outstanding resume is the subject of a Career Development Workshop set for 7 p.m. Monday, June 14, at the Kearney Public Library.
The University of Nebraska at Kearney and the Kearney Public Library will cosponsor the workshop titled Update Your Résumé. One in a series of career development workshops being held the second Monday of each month, the program is free and open to the public. Michelle Fleig-Palmer, UNK’s Dual Career Program director and a published author, will be the main workshop presenter.
“It’s so important to write a good résumé so that it will be placed on the top of the pile when you are being considered for a job,” said Fleig-Palmer. “Because the job market is so competitive, it is important to focus your job search efforts. This workshop will help you become more focused by identifying the skills you offer an employer and teaching you how to better communicate those skills on your résumé.”
Fleig-Palmer’s credentials include career coaching, and she is certified by Career Masters Institute. She has published multiple articles on job search techniques.
